The (un)related

I like it! Sure, I still hope to lose weight in the offseason, but it’s more the continuation of a process that I’ve already begun. I like the idea of eating intuitively, getting more in touch with why you eat as you do during the break from intense training. When you’re going hard in your workouts, you don’t have as much energy to devote to those questions; the main concern is simply to get the calories in.

I don’t know that my approach would work for everyone, though; I do tend to be more able to achieve goals without controlling every little thing. Then again, if you put on a couple pounds (only a couple, mind you), is it going to make that much difference? You know they’re going to come off again in base building. Let’s just think of it as putting on your winter coat.
